Established in 1992 by Accordionist & Bandleader Donald Ross ( a musician with 25 years experience and an accredited reputation in virtually every area of the professional music business in London ) The Highlanders were originally formed with a view to creating an atmosphere of sheer, unadulterated enjoyment by providing great music for dancing at Scottish Wedding Parties & Ceilidhs. Since those early days The Highlanders have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge ( not to mention a drawer full of client testimonial letters ! ) which has, of recent years, enabled them to successfully undertake a comprehensive range of engagements in both the corporate and private hospitality sectors. Additional examples of Ceilidh-type engagements include performances for Burns Suppers, St Andrew's Day Celebrations, Scottish-themed Christmas Parties & several prestigious Corporate Events

Following the development and refinement of a specific Reeling Repertoire, The Highlanders' latest musical forays have been into the milieux of Reeling Parties and Balls. These performances have proven so highly successful and musically rewarding that the band is now eager to undertake further Reeling engagements and enquiries in this regard are particularly welcomed

Finally, and by way of complementing the Scottish ambience created by the band, The Highlanders are ( whenever required ) also able to perform a superb repertoire of easy-listening and background-music 'Standards' - please see Repertoire Lists - plus a further, limited, selection of Pop & Rock songs with vocals ( from the Twenties to the Seventies ) for general dancing and 'bopping'
